Success Story

Before Invention

evnt-spkr-img1-1.jpgThe boy named Subhendu Dandpat belongs to Tangarabahali a tribal village of keonjhar dist. He is a spastic cerebral palsy child. He belongs to a low socio economic status & nuclear family. His father’s name is Hrudananda Dandapat & mother’s name is Mandodari Dandapat. They are 3 sisters & one brother. Subhendu is 1st of them. At the time of delivery his mother was suffered from prolonged labour pain. After birth the child was delayed birth cry and developmental delayed milestone. After that his parents taken him to their village quack and they are fully believed in superstitions, that it is a curse. After his birth Subhendu was not fully accepted by his family members. When he grown up he couldn’t perform his ADL activities. He was totally depended on his family. Day by day he & his family face so many problems due to his condition. His father is a daily labour & mother is a house wife. Due to financial scarcity they are unable to treat their child for his betterment. After that his family members are totally psychologically depressed and thought there is no such improvement taken place in their child. Subhendu was in a very miserable condition for a long time. The awareness camp of SADBHABANA held at Harichandanpur block in the year 2017. At that time the child was identified by team members of SADBHABANA Keonjhar. His parents convinced by our team members & then came to our centre with their child.

During Intervention

evnt-spkr-img1-2.jpg When Subhendu came to our centre he was unable to stand, walk & move from one place to another. He is unable to do his ADL activities properly. He is totally dependent & he has no basic education. Though he is a spastic cerebral palsy child, our Physiotherapist diagnose him and given treatment like. stretching of tight structure(hamstring, calf, quadriceps, biceps, triceps muscles) for reduce spasticity or tightness, quadripod position for trunk balance, B/L Bridging exercises for strengthen the abdominal & pelvic muscles, co-ordination exercise, parallel bar walking for improve gait training, ADL training etc.. Our special educators gave his educational services like writing his name, parents name, identification of basic colours, vegetables, fruits, flowers, animals, birds, body parts etc.we also provide him basic education such as personal skills, social skills. Academic skills, occupational skills and recreational skills etc.



After Intervention

evnt-spkr-img1-1.jpgAfter 2 and half years of therapeutic and special educational intervention now Subhendu is able to do his ADL activities independently. After regular Therapeutic Intervention his tightness slightly reduced. His balance & co-ordination improved to some extent. He can walk with cane support. Now Subhendu is able to write his name, identify colours, vegetables, fruits, birds, animals, days of the week, counting & write numbers etc. His socialization skills also improved.
